摘要:The general objective of this study is to highlight the reflection of the Patient Classification System and Nursing Staff Dimensioning in care management. The methodology used was the integrative literature review, with a search in the Virtual Health Library, with a time frame from 2015 to September 2021, with the combination of the descriptors: "Personnel Dimensioning" and "Nursing". At the end of the search, 09 articles met the eligibility criteria and were selected to compose the study. It was evident that in addition to the Patient Classification System being the basis for the Dimensioning of Nursing Personnel, it is an important tool in the management of care and planning of nursing actions, since it allows to know the profile of the clientele served. In turn, there is a long way to go in Personnel Dimensioning, this characteristic implies several negative repercussions, such as the undersizing of personnel, greater succession to iatrogenic events and among others, since the number of nursing hours allocated to patients will be closely related to the safety and quality of the assistance provided. Therefore, greater investments and appropriation, on the part of nurses, in activities related to planning, administration and management, which help to subsidize the formulation of strategies for a safe adaptation of the number of nursing professionals, necessary to provide a better quality care and security.
