摘要:Objective: to characterize the cases of tuberculosis in health workers reported in the Notifiable Diseases Information System, between 2014 and 2018. Method: descriptive, quantitative study, with a secondary data source from the Notifiable Diseases Information System, referring to cases of tuberculosis among health professionals from 2014 to 2018, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Collection carried out in the system database, the database being released in Excel spreadsheet format, revised for completion and coded, selected variables of interest and transferred to the Stata 9.13 software, applying descriptive statistics with distribution of relative frequencies and absolute, measures of central tendency and dispersion. Results: of the 27,110 records examined, 399 (1.5%) were from health workers, 283 (70.9%) were women, mean age 39.6 years, white skin color (73.6%), residents in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre (52.1%), new cases (88.7%), pulmonary form (64.9%), comorbidities (41.3%), with 10.2% (40) living with AIDS and 11% (44) were positive for HIV and cure outcome of 84.2%. Conclusion: The study identified flaws in filling out the SINAN, limiting the findings, however, the results presented allow a detailed look at the occupational risk of acquiring tuberculosis among health workers. In addition, it allowed the characterization of infected workers that provide subsidies for health surveillance for the planning of actions aimed at promoting the health of this population group.
