摘要:To evaluate the main dietary changes that occurred among Brazilian university students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Cross-sectional study with 946 university students of both sexes aged 18 years or over. Data were collected through a closed online questionnaire. To analyze the association between dietary changes and the main social, economic and nutritional determinants, crude and adjusted prevalence ratios and the Poisson multivariate regression model were used. Most participants (88.8%) were enrolled in a public university, 74.4% reported weight change, 21.8% had an inadequate body mass index and 37.8% had a considerable prevalence of physical inactivity during the period of social distancing. and increased intake of ultra-processed and fast food, due to several factors. The social distancing imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic negatively changed the life habits of students, who began to adopt risky eating habits, impacting the perception of weight in this group. In addition, it was possible to identify that single university students, practitioners of physical activity and who perceived themselves with weight gain were more likely to adhere to dietary changes considered to be a risk to health.
