摘要：Introduction: Humanized childbirth involves a set of behaviors and procedures that aim to promote physiological childbirth, because even if the labor is extensive, it is the best option both for the newborn and for its recovery, preventing maternal morbidity and mortality. and perinatal. Objectives: Inform physiotherapists and other health professionals about the importance of physiotherapy in humanized childbirth and analyze the benefits of the treatment performed by physiotherapy. Method: This is a bibliographic, descriptive and exploratory review with the inclusion criteria: articles and published intellectual productions, covering the period from 2017 to 2021. Results: The role of physiotherapy is fundamental in assisting the parturient, helping the woman to adjust to these changes, from the beginning to the end of labor. Conclusion: The performance of a qualified physiotherapist in obstetric care favors and encourages the parturient to have an active, less painful, and beneficial labor for the mother-child binomial, with a significant reduction in labor time, favoring conception as soon as possible. Physiological, minimizing certain discomforts, and reinforcing in fact that physiotherapeutic care is important, so that childbirth becomes more humanized.
