摘要:This study presents discussions about a current theme that has plagued humanity since the year 2020 - the pandemic of COVID-19 - leading to the death of millions of people around the planet. The course of the research was based on the understanding of the causes and symptoms of the disease, the contagion and the ways found to reduce it, and, on the other end, the intense presence of the fake news generated by denialist movements that brought us closer to obscurantist tendencies and uncertain times, already experienced in other historical moments. From a retrospective and studies about the Spanish Flu it was possible to notice similar characteristics to those of today, such as the negligence of the competent authorities, the spread of fake news, and denialism. Historical figures such as Carlos Chagas and Oswaldo Cruz were references at that time who left a legacy of life-saving science through research and social action, but this legacy was not enough to contain the anti-science wave we have seen. To understand the movement, we analyzed four fake news, disseminated in digital social media, trying to identify their contradictions and untruths in the light of science. With this movement, we seek to value the advances of research, science, and the dissemination of paths that lead to the preservation and respect for the life of all people.
