摘要:Pariri (Arrabidaea chica) is a plant used for therapeutic purposes, in the form of an infusion of leaves, by the general population. In folk medicine, its leaves have anti-inflammatory, healing, antianemic and astringent properties. The objective of this work was to analyze this plant by physical-chemical and microbiological tests of 14 samples sold in Belo Horizonte. The analysis of samples followed the procedures of current legislation. The packaging and labels of commercial samples were evaluated, in addition to foreign matter and determination of moisture and ash content. The samples showed results consistent with the legislation regarding the evaluation of foreign matter, packaging and labeling. As for the moisture content, only sample 13 is in accordance with the legislation, while the ash content, only samples 8 and 11 were in disagreement. The results of microbiological analyzes for fungi and bacteria showed values below the maximum limit described by legislation. The analysis of total phenolics by the Folin-Ciocalteau method showed results compatible with the values found in the literature. It is concluded, therefore, that although only sample 13 meets the humidity parameter and it contributes to the growth of microorganisms, the results of the analyzes showed values lower than those recommended by legislation. Thus, the samples were, in general, suitable for consumption.
