  • 摘要:Diseases caused by wild pathogens to humans are an important concern for health systems, especially today. Thus, understanding the cycle of pathogens in hosts and reservoirs is a step-in combating and controlling these diseases. Many wild animals, including mammals, are important in the cycles of various parasitic diseases such as trypanosomiasis and have been studied by researchers around the world. To understand the research network on this subject, mammals as reservoirs of Trypanosoma, we carried out a bibliometric study evaluating the set of publications on the subject from 2010 to 2020. In this work, publications indexed in the Web of Science and Scopus databases were used. 446 articles were collected and 97 of these were selected, which objectively address the researched topic. Based on these articles, the main journals that published on the topic and timing of publications were identified, as well as the origin of the animals studied. Using bibliometric analysis tools, relationship maps of Institutions linked to the authors and networks of co-authors, citations, co-citations, bibliographic coupling, and co-occurrence of keywords were elaborated. In this way, it was possible to characterize how the framework of investigations about mammals as reservoirs of Trypanosoma is structured around the world.
