摘要:This article presents the results of an exploratory research that examined the possibility of using films as a meaningful pedagogical resource in high school for teaching genetics. The chosen film was “GATTACA” (1997). We analyzed some structural aspects and the presence of biological concepts related to two structuring subjects of the State Biological Curriculum Guidelines, which were "Biological Mechanisms" and "Genetic Manipulation". (Paraná, 2008). Throughout the analysis, we identified several scenes that can be used in the teaching of genetics. This indicates that this film can be considered a useful resource in this case. However, it should be considered that it is always desirable a prior preparation of the material by the teacher.
