摘要:Didactic games are important for teaching acting as a tool for facilitate the learning. With such potential these have been increasingly discussed and developed. Many games are present in several topics in science and biology and promote a dynamic situation and closer contact with the subject studied. In addition, specific topics such as biotechnology are highlighted in the Brazilian National Common Curricular Base (BNCC), but their teaching are still quite complex due to the lack of resources and laboratories in public schools in Brazil. Due to COVID-19 pandemic a technique called PCR (Polimerase Chain Reaction) has been widely publicized and discussed in several spheres. Known as a very specific and costly technology its application may be challenging. To overcome these difficulties this paper describe the development of a card game called PCR in Cards which aims to assist in the teaching and learning process of high school and undergraduate students while improving their knowledge of the PCR technique in a playful way and stimulating the fixation of the learning process. PCR is cards consists of a gathering card that simulate the steps, reagents and equipment used in PCR, is easy to reproduce for public schools’ teachers with low resources for teaching biotechnology. The game went through improvement processes that included the application of a questionnaire in classes of an undergraduate course in Biological Sciences and it was possible to diagnose the deficits of the PCR in Cards and make the game more effective for teaching PCR.
