摘要:This study sought to analyze how the scope of justice perception, based on the influence of group position, can be used to legitimize social exclusion. One hundred and three college students aged between 18 and 30 years (M = 20.44; SD = 1.98) participated. The study was composed of two experimental conditions: the participants justified the situation posed by an experimental condition (restriction of the scope of justice) or control (observers) through questionnaires. The content analysis was made from found justifications. The results introduced that, in restriction condition, the legitimization of the hegemonic position from dominant group occurred through meritocratic discourses. In control group, participants perceived social inequality and suggested widening the scope of justice, that is, non-restriction of rights for certain groups. Therefore, the strategic use of arguments of justice is identified as the widening/restriction of the scope of justice to justify social inequalities according to a certain group position.
