摘要:High rates of inactivity and sport neglect and the lack of studies on the basis of practicing in the field of non-competitive physical activity has generated the need to carry out researches to establish motivational profiles in the users of sport services. The aim of the study was to define and compare the different existing motivational profiles among the people who do non-competitive physical sports activities, analyzing its relationship with the sociodemographic variables (gender, age, occupation, practice area, time of daily practice, weekly and total practice). The sample consisted of 94 users of a public sport centre in the Region of Murcia (Spain). The instrument used to know the reasons of practice was the scale Motives for Physical Activity Measure-Revised (MPAM-R). After the cluster analysis, the results showed the existence of three motivational profiles: a profile where leisure and social factors were the most important ones, formed by adults worker women whose preferred area of practice was the pool; a second profile, the most motivated, supported by competition factors, health and fun, formed by young worker people whose preferred fitness activities for practice; the last profile characterized by motivation supported by the physical appearance and less health and competence, formed by young male and student, whose favourite practice area was the muscle-building room.
