摘要:Psychological factors are of vital importance in the sport context, which is why, in this research, it can be found in the levels of anxiety and emotional intelligence in a sample of Spanish athletes and in the existing relationships between the psychological factors cited. The present study was conducted on a sample in a sample composed of a total of 372 Spanish athletes of both sexes, 63.2% were men and 36.8% were women, aged between 18 and 50 years, evaluated through the Emotional Intelligence in Sports questionnaire (SSRI) and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI). The results indicate that the analyzed athletes present high values of emotional intelligence, and the self-emotional management in the dimension that obtains the highest scores, while the emotional use is the one with the lowest values; nine out of ten athletes with low or moderate levels of anxiety-state and anxiety-trait, while only one in ten have high anxiety; the athletes who obtain the highest scores of emotional intelligence have the lowest values of anxiety, both state and trait.
