摘要：The presence of foreign ethnic restaurants has become a norm in Malaysia. The establishment of such restaurants has been increasing steadily especially in recent decades. This phenomenon could be attributed to some elements that motivate foreigners to open their business in Malaysia. The present study is conducted through qualitative approach using in-depth interviews aiming to uncover the underlying reasons for the foreigners to open their restaurant business and how the external operating environment affects their restaurant business resilience. Furthermore, there has been a lack of studies looking into the external operating environment and resilience of foreign ethnic restaurants. Therefore, this warrants an investigation on the issue at hand.
