摘要:Factors of inconsistency in the reporting of domestic violence cases due to lack of knowledge and exposure to the violence case reporting techniques have been outlined. The COVID-19 pandemic had impacted family well-being with an increase in domestic violence cases during PKP. In 2020, 3,080 cases of domestic violence were reported to the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) from the period of the Movement Control Order (PKP) starting March 18 to the Recovery Movement Control Order (PKPP) and the Conditional Movement Control Order (PKPB) until 31 October 2020. The purpose of the study is to explore the skills of social workers in handling domestic violence case reporting techniques. Qualitative design is chosen guided by the case study approach. The justification for choosing this approach is due to the complex issue of domestic violence, thus the need to use in-depth interviews to obtain clearer, richer, and more detailed information. This study was conducted in the district of Hulu Langat, Selangor. The criteria in determining the sample and identifying the respondents are based on the objectives of the study. The result of the study suggests that many domestic violence cases are difficult to prove due to inconsistencies in case reporting between the victims of the cases, the hospital, police, welfare officers, and the lawyers.
