摘要:Performance measurement system (PMS) has been recognized as a management tool that enables the organization to coordinate their objective and strategic goals. Contemporary PMS consists of three elements: comprehensive, strategic and dynamic, which requires adaption of environmental changes in the organization. Despite the important roles played by the co-operatives movements in economic and social of community, previous studies found weakness in governance practices and lack of numbers of successful co-operatives. Thus, this study examines the effect of contemporary PMS on co-operatives managerial performance. The result of this study indicates that contemporary PMS has a significant effect on the co-operatives managerial performance. The implication of the study draws an important role of the co-operatives to explore on the value added activities that could reflect their efficiency in managing their co-operatives. Hence, the enhancement of human capital resources is crucial such as co-operatives management which eventually leads to sustainable competitive advantage. This study contributes to the research and management practices on the importance of contemporary PMS in co-operatives by delving into its effect on managerial performance.
