摘要:AbstractEstimation of population parameters plays a vital role in the area of sampling. Many authors have proposed several estimators for estimating population parameter(s) using auxiliary information. This paper has attempted to suggest a new estimator for estimating the general parameterta,busing auxiliary information in simple random sampling without replacement (SRSWOR). A conventional estimatorta,bis used to define the population constants: coefficient of variation, population mean, standard deviation, and population mean square. The expression for the minimum mean squared error has been derived. The efficiency of the suggested estimator and the existing estimators has been analyzed using a simulation study. Theoretical and empirical studies reveal the effectiveness of the proposed estimator over other existing estimators.
