  • 摘要:The current research was planned to determine the antimicrobial, antioxidant and enzyme inhibitory activity of fixed oil extracted from stem barkofAca-cia stenophylla. Antimicrobial activities were deter-mined by disc-diffusion and macro dilution methods. The results revealed that maximum zone of inhibi-tion (bacteria and fungi) was measured by fixed oil against 12 mm and 5 mm, respectively. MIC values recordedby fixed oil were0.5 mg/ml, 1.0 mg/ml,2.0 mg/ml, 4.0 mg/ml and 8.0 mg/ml against different bacterial and fungal strains tested. Acetylcholines-terease and lipooxygenase inhibitory activity were measured by spectrophotometric methods. Fixed oil of Acacia stenophylla inhibited acetylcholinesterase by 247.1 mg/ml (ICs0).Similarly, antioxidant poten-tial of fixed oll was measured by two different mod-els,i.e ABTS radical scavenging and ferric reduc-ing/antioxidant power(FRAP)assay. The reduction in ABTS radical scavenging activity depended on the concentration of the extract. Maximum percent inhibition was shown by fixed oil at 800 ug/ml. In case of ferric reducing/antioxidant power assay, plant sample showed inhibition of671.3 ug/ml. It is concluded that fixed oil of Acacia stenophylla has strong antimicrobial, enzyme inhibitory and antioxi-dant potential.
