  • 摘要:Fenpyroximate is a successful acaricide used for plant protection worldwide. Despite its wide- spread use, fenpyroximate can be dangerous for the environment and human health. The blackberry (Rubus fruticosus L.) is a shrub with a valuable fruit used in medicine, cosmetics and the food industry. Blackberry fruit has a high antioxidant capacity due to its nutrients and bioactive compounds. In the cur- rent study, the preventive role of R. fruticosus extract (1 g/L and 2 g/L) against phytotoxicity and genotox- icity caused by fenpyroximate (125 mg/L) was de- termined in Allium cepa L as a model plant. Due to fenpyroximate application, germination ratio, weight gain, root elongation, and mitotic index (MI) decreased, while the amounts of malondialdehyde (MDA) and meristematic cell damages, the frequen-cies of chromosomal abnormalities (CA) and micro- nucleus (MN) and the activities of superoxide dis- mutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) enzymes in- creased. On the other hand, treatment of increasing doses of R. fruticosus extracts prevented the dam-ages caused by fenpyroximate in all parameters. As a result, the preventive role of R. fruticosus extract against fenpyroximate-induced phytotoxicity has been shown for the first time in A. cepa in terms of alleviating oxidative stress and genotoxicity.
