摘要:The present study aimed to interpret the urban, archaeological and nature sites in the Phrygian Valley at Ayazini region in Afyonkarahisar prov-ince with the semantic differentiation technique and to determine the preference of these three sites located in the same area. Thus, the study partici-pants were selected from the visitors of the region the photographs of these sites were presented to the visitors and on-site field survey was conducted. In other words, the preference levels and semantic differences between urban archaeological sites, nature sites and archaeological sites were deter-mined with the survey technique in Ayazini histori-cal sites. Semantic differentiation test results were analyzed, and the analysis data were interpreted. In the study, 12 sites in 3 categories were analyzed based on the views of310 participants. Thus,it was determined that visitors liked and preferred 51.9%of the archaeological sites. The visitors liked and preferred 28.7% of the urban archaeological sites and 19.4%of the nature sites. The analysis of ad-jective pairs in the 12 sites in 3 categories revealed that there was a significant difference at 95% sig-nificance level. The highest difference between 12 sites in 3 categories was determined in 'artificial-natural' adjective pair based on visitor evaluations (F:23.461;p= 0.000)and the least difference was determined in unhappy-happy(F:4.521;p=0.000)adjective pair. Furthermore, regression analysis was conducted to determine the effect of semantic dif-ferentiation on preference; however, it was deter-mined that the interpretation of 12 sites based on the semantic differentiation scale did not have a significant impact on the preference of these sites (F=1.059;p>0.01).
