摘要：Background Significant progress has been made in understanding the physics, modeling, forecasting, applications, engineering, and regulatory dimensions of geomagnetically induced currents (GIC) over the past decades. This collection demonstrates the evolution of the field over these decades. In this brief commentary I provide some personal observations about modeling and forecasting dimension of the field.
