摘要：Este artigo apresenta uma visão do estado actual das relações entre a União Europeia e Israel e contribui para uma expansão da literatura neste domínio. Com um foco nos desenvolvimentos políticos e sociais verificados ao longo dos últimos cinco anos, nesta contribuição argumenta-se que estas relações exibem um paradoxo na medida em que dinâmicas de cooperação e conflito, e de atracção e repulsa, coexistem e alternam entre si. A assinalável importância que a ue tem para Israel do ponto de vista económico, comercial, científico e cultural, não é correspondida com um poder político na mesma medida, apesar dos esforços da ue em influenciar desenvolvimentos políticos regionais, sobretudo no que diz respeito ao conflito israelo-palestiniano. Partindo deste contexto, este artigo analisa criticamente a literatura produzida até hoje e abre novas avenidas para a expansão da agenda de investigação nas relações entre a União Europeia e Israel.
其他摘要：This article presents an overview of the current state of affairs of the EU-Israel relations and contributes to an expansion of the research agenda of this field. With a focus on the social and political developments of the last five years, it argues that this relationship exhibits patterns of cooperation and conflict, and attraction and repulsion. The remarkable importance that the EU has for Israel in the domains of economy, trade, science and culture is not matched by an equivalent political leverage, despite EU's efforts in influencing regional political developments, mainly the ones regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Departing from this context, the article critically engages with the literature and presents avenues for further inquiry on this topic.
