摘要:Due to observed Polyphenols (PP) inhibition for Pristinamycin producing microorganism Strepto-myces pristinaespiralis. An optimization pre-treatment for date syrup (DS) detoxification, before its use as a fermentation media,by means of adsorptive removal of PP by activated charcoal (ACC) was evaluated.A total PP content of 2043.83 mg/100g gallic acid equivalent (GAE) in the concentrated thick Khalas DS was obtained.Such high concentration of PP compared to whole date fruits was due to high temperature involved in the process of DS extraction coupled with vacuum evaporation for excess water, which initiated the enrichment for PP in the DS.The performance of the ACC in removing PP from DS was evaluated in batch experiments. The low removal of PP by 1% ACC encouraged the use of 3% and 5%.Precisely,using 5% ACC with a contact time for 1 hour significantly reduced the PP to 483.12 as mg GAE /100g,achieving removal rate of 76.36%.The maximum of PP adsorption capacities obtained at 5 % ACC was found to be 30°C compared with higher temperatures.
