摘要:We developed an inquiry-based biology laboratory exercise in which undergraduate students designed experiments addressing whether material from the neem tree (Azadirachta indica) altered bean beetle (Callosobruchus maculatus) movements and oviposition. Students were introduced to the bean beetle life cycle, experimental design, data collection, and reporting practices. At the end of the semester students exhibited increases in specific areas such as self-confidence in science process skills related to the design and implementation of experiments, as well as scientific reasoning skills.
