摘要:Carrot crop is infected by several diseases but Alternaria leaf blight is a potential threat for its successful production. Biochemical compounds play an important role in defense mechanism of carrot plants. Alternaria dauci cause alterations in these compounds in leaves which favour the pathogen in disease development. Understanding of these variations in biochemical compounds helps the researcher to develop concrete management strategy against leaf blight of carrot. That is why in present research alterations in these biochemical compounds were in vestigated under Nested structured w ith three replications. Three resistant and three susceptible advanced lines were chosen on the basis of two years field based screening. Leaves of susceptible (20404, 27487, 20284) and resistant (20159, 20280, 20083) advanced lines were inoculated through spray method w ith control (uninoculated). Variations in concentrations of biochemical compounds were observed. Among types (susceptible and resistant) and treatments groups (un-inoculated and inoculated) (p< 5) in advanced lines of carrot infected w ith leaf blight. Susceptible type showed 1.63,3.08,2.00, 0.94,2.29 and 2.48g/g while resistant advanced lines expressed 2.40, 4.01, 2.30, 1.26, 2.70 and 2.92 g/g while in case of inoculated 0.84, 4.99, 3.09,1.88, 2.32 and 3.64 g/g and in un-inoculated 3.20, 2.09, 1.20, 0.33, 2.67 and 1.76 g/g concentration of protein, CAT, POD, SOD, TSS and total phenolic contents respectively were observed. Variation in these biochemical compounds may be used to search out resistant source in carrot germplasm to address leaf blight of carrot.
