摘要:Multiple-Input–Multiple-Output (MIMO) wireless systems use multiple antenna elements at transmit and receive to offer improved capacity and data rate over single antenna topologies in multipath channels. In such systems, the antenna properties as well as the multipath channel characteristics play a key role in determining communication performance. This paper discusses different V-BLAST detection schemes employed in MIMO systems. Issues considered include Bit Error Rate (BER), channelcapacity with and without water-filling algorithm and number of Floating Point Operations (FLOPS) required for detection. Among the different detection schemes an improved square-root algorithm for V-BLAST based on efficient inverse cholesky factorization outperforms other detection algorithms in terms of the number of Floating Point Operations (FLOPS) required for detection of the transmitted symbols. The algorithm is faster than the existing efficient V-BLAST detection algorithms.
