  • 摘要:Free Space Optics (FSO) or optical wireless technology is similarto the fber optic communication except the fber optic in whichthe data is transmitted through the atmosphere using laser beamfrom transmitter to receiver. In spite of the possibility of differentapplications, the performance of such links is highly dependenton different weather conditions particularly in presence of fog.Snow also affects the free space optics. The weather conditionsthat reduce visibility affect the FSO performance. In this paperthe combined effect of specifc attenuation due to Fog and Snowon FSO and RF links is compared.
