摘要：Advancements in the feld of medical imaging have made it possibleto view the whole body in the form of cross sectional images. Incase of the diseases of the brain, the neurologist mostly relieson the magnetic resonance imaging of the brain for diagnosis.The frst step in reporting of the magnetic resonance images isreviewing of the cross sectional images at various levels. Thispaper describes a novel technique to locate desired slice usingmoments on a feature reduced MR image database. Every pixel inthe image is labeled with the code of the texture primitive basedon the local neighborhood and the eccentricity value on that givesa good measure in classifying similar and dissimilar slices.
