摘要：In this paper the performance of the intrusion detection system SNORT is analyzed and tested for Packet loss. SNORT is implemented on Linux Operating System. It is observed that there is a significant increase in the packet drop when the traffic speedis increased simultaneously. Similarly when the packet size is augmented then the drop in packets also decreases.
