摘要:A rapidly growing population and unprecedented dietarychanges are placing the Indian food system underincreasing pressure. Agriculture accounts for 90% offreshwater use in India, and ongoing environmentalchanges could have substantial effects on wateravailability and distribution. 1 Droughts in 2016–17 inIndia led to food insecurity, migration, and other majorsocial disruptions, and scant evidence exists on which tobase policy action to respond to these pressures. OurSustainable and Healthy Diets in India (SAHDI) projectaimed to generate novel methods for the academiccommunity and new data specifically to inform evidence-based policies to support healthy and environmentallysustainable diets in India.
