摘要:Effect of seasons on typhoid infection was studied by using Widal as diagnostic tool for detection, with thecut of titre 1:160. Three years study of typhoid and paratyphoid infections in Akola was studied in 11 hospitals,one government and 10 private hospitals. Seasonal variation of Widal positive patients above titre 1:160 and1:320 shows that in private hospitals maximum cases were in monsoon, as in private hospitals cases fromcivil areas were more so only seasonal onset was noted, while in government hospital from summer tomonsoon maximum cases were noted, where cases from slum areas were maximum. Month-wise study oftotal patients from Akola city shows that maximum patients were noted in the end of summer and in rainyseason i.e., in May, June and July.
