摘要:The textile industry plays an important role in the economies of numerous countries around the world. Butthe dye wastewater from the textile industry has become one of the most serious environmental problemstoday for its harm, especially in aquatic environments. Dyes are aromatic organic colorants and have potentialapplications in textile, plastic, rubber, paper and food industries. Therefore, the treatment of dye wastewateris of interest. The potential and effectiveness of the camphor sawdust was studied as an alternative adsorbentfor the removal of dye wastewater. The dye Congo red was used as the pollutant. The effects of camphorsawdust dosage, pH in aqueous solution, the contact time and dye Congo red concentration on dye Congored adsorption by the camphor sawdust were investigated. The results showed that the reaction factors hadan important influence on adsorption process. The adsorption isotherm fitted better with the Langmuir modeland the adsorption process was an endothermic process. The maximum adsorption capacity obtained fromthe Langmuir isotherm is 29.51 mg/g.
