摘要:Activated carbons obtained from agricultural by-products have the some advantage like efficiencyand low cost, if they are compared with non-renewable coal-based granular activated carbons. Theabundance and availability of agricultural by-products make them good sources of raw materials foractivated carbon production. The modified orange peels were prepared from orange peels by thechemical activation. The effect of pH value and coexisting anions (NO 3 - , SO 4 2- and PO 4 3- ) were discussedin detail. Furthermore, adsorption isotherm for adsorption of ClO 4 - ions on the modified orange peelswas studied. The experimental results showed that the values of pH and coexisting anions have animportant influence on the adsorption of ClO 4 - ions by the modified orange peels. The Freundlichadsorption isotherm model was suitable for the ClO 4 - ions in solution. The adsorption process of ClO 4 -ions in solution by the modified orange peels is not uniform.
