摘要：The present research seeks to have an in depth study (citation analysis) of papers published by academics and research and development in Defence Science Journal (DSJ) during 2006-2013. Defence Science Journal (DSJ) has been selected as the source journal. 47 issues pertaining to eight volumes from 2006-2013 have been consulted and selected for the study. Information about each contribution such as author, author’s affiliation (lab), citations were noted down manually. The recorded data was analyzed, interpreted and tabulated. The study uses 631 articles which have been published in this journal during 8 years. Highest number of articles (94) were published in the year 2007. In authorship pattern more than two author citations are dominant than others and it makes a share of 47.8%. Maximum papers, i.e. 40 (6.3%) are reported to contribute from High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL), Pune. Himanshu Shekhar from High Energy Materials Research Laboratory, Pune contributed the highest number of papers, i.e. 11. Furthermore, the study also indicates that highest number of papers in DSJ, i.e. 110 (sharing 17.4% of the total) are related to Electronics and Instrumentation. Majority of the foreign articles are contributed from China followed by Czech Republic. This paper provides suggestions derived from the analysis of data which would definitely be helpful in knowing the relevance of popular/ highly cited journals discipline wise, productivity of authors in various DRDO Labs and other organisations and how to popularize DSJ in different parts of the world.
