The investigation in this case study was carried out on both the supply side and the demand side of thehalalcertification to gain a holistic view of the situation. The investigation comprises of face-to-face interviews with representatives from thehalalregulatory bodies (supply side) andhalalfood manufacturers (demand side) and document review ofhalalcertification documentations. A qualitative analysis comprising of a value chain and work systems analysis was conducted to describe a newhalalvalue chain, a newhalalwork system as components of a new detailed view of thehalalecosystem.
