摘要:Evidence that sentence production impairments in aphasia are related, in part, to a reduced processing capacityindicates a need for treatments that address this deficit. Syntactic priming is a paradigm used to study sentenceprocessing in normal speakers (Bock, 1986), and also a treatment approach for agrammatic aphasia because itpresumably makes a syntactic stmcture more accessible (Saffian & Martin, 1997). We investigated whether thisapproach would improve sentence processing in someone whose output is characterized by paragrammatism. We alsoinvestigated how manipulating syntactic and semantic complexity impacted the facilitating effect of syntacticpriming.
