摘要:The relationship between bilingualism and cognitive abilities has been increasingly studied, pointing to abilingual advantage on a better performance in more complex cognitive components such as executive functions, including working memory (WM) and inhibition (I) (Abutalebi & Green, 2007; Bialystok, 2009). This study aimed toverify the relationship between bilinguals’ working memory ability, inhibitory control and cognitive flexibility ascompared to the performance of an age and schooling level matched monolingual group. The bilinguals represent atypical group of Italian immigrants in the south of Brazil, who speak both Brazilian Portuguese and Italian (mainlythe Veneto dialect, orally mastered).
