摘要:Recent investigations of the novel word learning by people with aphasia (PWA) have suggested possibleimplications of residual verbal learning abilities for aphasia rehabilitation (Gupta, Martin, Abbs, Schwartz, &Lipinski, 2006). We investigated the ability of PWA to learn novel words with novel referents (aliens andunfamiliar tools) using Gupta et al’s (2006) word learning paradigm. They demonstrated receptive, but notexpressive learning in PWA and an influence of semantic abilities on receptive learning. We modified theparadigm to promote greater expressive learning.
