摘要:Word finding difficulty (anomia) is a typical feature of normal aging. It can also herald the onset of a variety ofpathological neurological processes, including Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer’s disease (AD).Confrontation naming tasks such as the Boston Naming Test (BNT) (Kaplan et al., 1983) are typically used byclinicians to assess degree of anomia, although accurate clinical differentiation between normal and mildly impairednaming can be challenging. The present study aims to determine whether response times (RTs) are more sensitivethan accuracy scores to disruptions in the lexical retrieval process of individuals with MCI and mild AD.
