摘要：AbstractThe paper will discuss an on-going research on Shah Alam City Council's planning guidelines for the provision of playgrounds and playing fields. This paper sets the question of the suitability and the adequacy of this planning guideline used for the playing spaces in a low cost housing area. The areas of study focus on the types of playing behaviour, the location of playing patterns and the problems arising from the playing activities in this setting. Perhaps the findings will help in improving the guidelines for this important amenity which has not been given due recognition.
