摘要:The lexical-syntactic entry of a verb contains information about the syntactic environment in which the verb can be integrated. In this study we examined in which types of aphasia there is an impairment in lexical-syntactic information, and where this information is stored in the intact language processing. We focused on the verb's complementation information — information about the number and types of phrases that complement the verb (e.g., sneezed ; pushed the car; gave a candy to the girl). The common assumption is that this information is part of the verb representation in the lexicon. However, it is required only in a context of a phrase or a sentence, because it determines the syntactic environment in which the verb can be inserted.
