  • 摘要:AbstractThe purpose of this study is to identify relevant professional development programs to enhance Malaysian polytechnic technical lecturers’ competency using an appropriate delivery format (formal, non formal or informal). The exploration on both competency dimensions was based on the level of importance, the level of knowledge and the level of performance. Using a survey questionnaire, 401 technical lecturers from five Malaysian polytechnics participated in the study. Interviews were also conducted to complement the study. The results indicated that Malaysian polytechnic technical lecturers’ competency could be enhanced by minimizing the competency discrepancy through relevant professional development programs using appropriate delivery format.
