摘要：AbstractThe objective of the present study was to construct, prepare, and normalize a premarital agreement scale adapted to the Iranian culture in order to predict the rate of marital success. Using convenient sampling, a sum of 286 subjects (%50 females and %50 males) took part in the study. The subjects were placed in three groups, comprised of premarital (%19.6), marital (%63.8), and divorced couples (%16.7). Considering the principles of constructing a questionnaire and determining the face validity and content validity, the Premarital Agreement Scale (PAS) was prepared and then along with Enriching and Nurturing Relationship Issues, Communication and Happiness (ENRICH) was administered on the three sample groups. Upon appraisal of the questionnaire's validity, using factor analysis, data from the three groups were then compared and further analyzed statistically by one-way analysis of variance, Kruskal Wallis test, Spearman correlation coefficient, t test and regression analysis. The findings showed that PAS has suitable reliability and validity. The results of factor analysis provided four subscales: 1. Interactions and Recreations (α=0.82), 2. Understanding and Emotional Exchange (α=0.85), 3. Political and Social Affairs (α=77), and 4. Education and Training of children (α=0.88). The total alpha level for the whole questionnaire was computed as 0.91. Furthermore, according to regression model, the duration of engagement period was identified as a predictor variable for success in marriage.
