摘要：This paper seeks to present what teachers in Early Childhood Education recount about the plays and the ways children play in quotidian school life. Children’s play at the collective playtime seemed to awaken imagination in teachers, updating their memories. Other ways of playing emerge in children’s play, expanding teachers’ know-how. By means of playing the child knows him/herself as well as his/her surrounding world. Teachers consider the make-believe an important aid to find out what the child feels and thinks, how he/she sees the reality within which he/she is, and how he/she sees their work. It is also highlighted the importance of playing time for children in a full-time school. Keywords: Play. Children. Quotidian.↓Neste texto, busca-se apresentar o que as professoras da Educação Infantil narram a respeito das brincadeiras e dos jeitos de as crianças brincarem no cotidiano escolar. As brincadeiras das crianças, no recreio coletivo, estão despertando nas professoras a imaginação, atualizando suas memórias. Outros jeitos de brincar emergem nas brincadeiras infantis, ampliando os saberes fazeres das professoras. Por meio da brincadeira, a criança se conhece e conhece o mundo ao seu redor. As professoras consideram o faz-de-conta importante para se descobrir o que a criança sente e pensa, como ela vê a realidade em que está inserida e como vê o trabalho delas. Destaca-se, também, a importância do tempo do brincar para as crianças, numa escola de educação em tempo integral. Palavras-chave: Brincadeira. Criança. Cotidiano.
