摘要：In a so-called Staff Position Note, a non-offi cial document, the chief economist of the Inter- national Monetary Fund, Olivier Blanchard, and two coauthors have suggested that central banks should raise their medium-run infl ation target from around two per cent to some- thing like four per cent. This has raised quite a stir among central bankers, economists, government offi cials and the press. In Germany in particular the proposal has met with near universal rejection.
