摘要:The proposal of Sir Norman Foster and Partners for the Telecommunications Center of Monte Pedroso in Santiago Compostela departs from the conventional type of tall telecommunications tower, which has been consolidated in the last third of the XX century. The architecture of this kind of facilities, conditioned technologically and functionally, undergoes continuous evolution in accordance with the extremely rapid progress of the telecommunication systems. The article explains the fundamentals of the novel typological approach of the Santiago Telecommunications Center, inducing the reader to reflect on the importance that the considerations relative to the site, function and construction have in the process of generating an architectural form.
