摘要:Problems faced in learning the Java language for fifth graders in SDN Lempuyangan III Yogyakarta are low activity of speaking and conversation skills. The problems are influenced by several factors, such as unimplemented efffective and attractive learning techniques for learners. This research aims to improve the skills of speaking Javanese for fifth graders in SDN Lempuyangan III Yogyakart. This research is a participatory classroom action research with subject of research is all fifth grader students. The study involves researchers and teachers. Research activities include (1) determining focus of the research problem, (2) planning action, (3) implementing the action, (4) interpreting observation, (5) reflection, (6) evaluation and reflection, and (7) inferencing the results. Data analysis technique is descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed that the application of picture series telling techniques in the learning of the Javanese speaking skills can improve the intensity of learners’ activities. The learners Java language speaking skills have also increased but not maximally improved.
