摘要：2015 was a tough year for many geologists around theWorld, and the years to come may be even tougher. Lowprices of oil, gas and other energy sources, and also of manymineral commodities have led to a significantly lower levelof investments in exploration and production than seen inprevious years. Both society and industry suffer from muchlower income, so cost reduction is the new buzzword; andmany geologists have lost their jobs ‒ also in Denmark andat GEUS. Investments in data, projects and knowledge ‒including many typical products from the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS) ‒ are worryinglylow and will eventually reduce the level of knowledge fordecision makers in both the private and public sectors.
