摘要：Tis paper summarises the status of the Continental ShelfProject of the Kingdom of Denmark afer the recent submission for an extended continental shelf in the area to the northof Greenland. We discuss some of the similarities betweenthe submission areas north of the Faroe Islands and northof Greenland including the morphological continuation ofridges extending seaward of the geomorphical continentalshelf. Documentation of the sediment thickness in the adjoining basins and sediment continuity with the continentalslope plays a vital role in the delineation of the outer limits ofthe extended continental shelf. Here, we compare how theseissues were addressed around the well-studied Faroe Islandsand in the sparsely surveyed Arctic Ocean.
