摘要:Our purpose was to know users’ opinion on the quality of services provided by the library and the factors that may affect it. A cross-sectional descriptive study undertaken in 2002 in the library of the University Hospital Puerta de Hierro, Madrid using a self-administered questionnaire with 28 items. A total of 106 questionnaires were collected. Of them, 48% were medical professionals, 19% students, 15% residents, 10% other professionals, and 8% trained nurses. Eighty-six per cent of people who attended library did so frequently, mostly to make bibliographic searches (67%), to obtain copies of papers from library funds (63%), and to consult the latest issues received (59%). Ninety-four per cent of users were satisfied. The least satisfied users were medical and other professional and residents. Users showed a medianhigh level of satisfaction with regard to the services provided by the library and a low level of satisfaction with regard to infrastructure, size and furniture of the reading room.
