摘要：This paper analyzes the history of South American fossil mammal collections, especially those stored at the Paris Muséum d’Histoire Naturelle in the mid 19th century. Presenting the work of A. Bravard, the paper focuses on three aspects: the provincial collectors’ practices, the fossil collection’s transactions and the competence among European museums as a ground for acquiring such collections.
